Gun Ra / Boardroom Show 2026

We were stoked to receive an Honorable Mention for Best in Show at this year's Boardroom Show in Del Mar. The theme was ‘Super El Niño’ and the level of craftsmanship and knowledge on display was through the roof. It was a very special thing to see all these boards together in one space, with nearly 60 entries representing a vast field of big wave experience and theory.

This Bonzer Vehicle is our tribute to a true surfer of the cosmos, the space-jazz philosopher known as Sun Ra. His music and futurism have inspired us for decades. This gun represents "a flash of intuition's fire," a finite instrument to be ridden in and harmonized with the ocean's vast frequencies.

The template derives from proven gun shapes we've made for surfers all over the world going back 40+ years. On the bottom, we're utilizing our 5 fin setup and incorporating the Bonzer Light Vehicle bottom contour for additional fluidity and hold at mach speeds.

The board's color design derives specifically from a piece of hand drawn album art Sun Ra made in the 1970s. Glassed beautifully at Studio 609 in Ventura, this gun is made in classic polyurethane construction, built to last and take on whatever this historic winter may offer.
